Charitable status

Stithians Agricultural Association Limited is a registered charity and as such is bound by its stated objectives. This means that under U.K. Charity Laws we cannot always support local initiatives as we might wish. The Show is the main fundraiser for our charitable endeavours.

Our Objectives

We are here to promote and encourage agriculture, horticulture, forestry, conservation and industry for the public benefit.

The Annual Show takes place on a Monday in July. The date of the event varies based on the proximity of the Feast of St Stythian.

Our Team work tirelessly throughout the year, planning, maintaining and making improvments to the site, revising the schedules for the competitive sections, accommodating external events and so much more.

Education

To meet the education objective the Association may agree bursaries to support activities which are considered educational and may include travel and fees or even, associated living costs. Application should be made to the Show Secretary.

We are also pleased to sponsor the coach travel for children at Stithians School to attend the annual 'Food & Farming' event at Wadebridge.

Benefits to the Local Community

- Ability to enjoy events held on the Showground without travelling many miles to an alternative venue

- Local employment of contractors

- Local accommodation is used for judges and some competitors/exhibitors/contractors providing income locally

- Community involvement - free space at the Show for local charities and organisations

- Availability of bursaries from the money raised by our charitable activities
